FAO SOLA PROJECT IN GHANA
Ghana is one of the 3 Pilot countries involved in the Project. The project is at its infant stage where the generic software is being developed in Rome and will be deployed to the pilot countries for customisation after the development by the end of the year. Ghana has two guys in the development team in Rome. It is to customise the business processes in land registration.

Software Development Metrics
Sorry about the delay in posting a response to your query - a response is now posted under the separate discussion thread that you initiated last week on Software Development Metrics.
In short at this point in time the best contact for this topic is me, Neil Pullar (). Refer to About > Contact Us for additional contact information. However, please note that there is some material related to this topic on this website
Spam and Community dialogue
Hi True members .
I seem to be getting spammed form this community and some of the messages contain links that have no bearing to the
goals of the community . Do we have a site administrator that can put in place some checks and balances . I am not sure what will work and what are already inplace, but can membership be confimed by email and perhaps give members the opportunity to flag irrelevant messages and also disallow members that make irrelevant contributions to the dialogue.. I realize that this is may be difficult to implement and may not alway have the desired impact, but it is the best I can come up with ... Any ideas
Thank you
Managing Spam
The SOLA Team are now taking a more active approach to managing fake registrations and the spam messages they create. New members must first confirm by email before they can contribute - this won't stop all spammers, but combined with more active management it should hopefully reduce the level of spam on this site.
Grand retrospective
It's been a long journey but I believe we are getting to the end of it. Starting from requirements gathering, analysis and software projects insights from very talented professionals in cadaster and registration systems, I can only agree that the project has been well planned. The registration systems that operate in these pilot countries are different and to develop a generic software to support their common processes must be a difficult one. Nevertheless, I believe the team has done a great job.
With the project coming to an end in Ghana (I don't know about the other countries), I believe the team can share ideas with the larger SOLA community on success or otherwise stories... kind of Grand Retrospective. A Rome conference will have been perfect but because many of us are very busy now, an online conference may be helpful. Personally, I have learnt many lessons from this project and believe sharing them with the rest of the team members will be useful in future software projects. I believe other team members equally have rich experiences they will like to share with the rest of us. Can you guys share your thoughts on this proposal?
